I am forwarding this announcement from Lewis Zirkle, MD the founder of the SIGN foundation.

I have mentioned the organization before on the list. This is a
charitable organization. The goal of the project is to provide training and free implants for the operative care of long bone fractures. Thereare numerous SIGN projects now in full swing around the world.

Visit the web site located at to learn more about the organization and its goals.

I will be attending the conference to discuss with Dr. Zirkle and the other attendees how Orthogate and ISOST can help provide information gathering capabilities to the organization using the Internet. I will also be discussing ways that OrthoGate/ISOST members can be become active in the organization. My understanding is that the organization is
looking for potential SIGN project sites as well as orthopaedic surgeon mentors who can learn the SIGN technique and set up a new project.

If any of you have any comments or desire to become involved and cannot attend the conference feel free to email me and I will bring up the ideas for discussion during the conference.
