Orthopaedic Web Links (OWL) is a catalogue of the orthopaedic Internet. OWL has just been completely updated (summer 2002). There is a new design and links to over 7000 peer reviewed WebPages to the best worldwide quality orthopaedic and trauma knowledge.

OWL is suitable for all health care professionals and patients who are seeking orthopaedic knowledge.

OWL content includes extensive links to topics including: Case Management, Commercial Suppliers, Continuing Medical Education, E-Mail Lists, Evidence Based Orthopaedics, National and International Organisations, Orthopaedic Topics, Orthopaedic Informatics, Patient Information, Personal Digital Assistants for Orthopaedics, Presentations, Publications, Surgeons and Clinics, Teaching Resources and links to Universities and Academic Centres.
Orthopaedic Web Links is founded on the concept that it is better to combine than compete! The initial Founding Members of OWL recognized that the task of finding and evaluating the information available to orthopaedic surgeons and patients is far greater that one individual or organisation can undertake successfully. In addition, until there is a source of information in orthopaedics, which is comprehensive enough and prominent enough to be termed an authority, those seeking and those providing information will seldom make contact. The current senior editors of OWL are orthopaedic surgeons skilled in expert knowledge management and organisation of large databases.

Senior OWL Editors are:

Dr Myles Clough - Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Kamloops, BC, Canada

Mr Chris Oliver - Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

Dr. Christian Veillette - Orthopaedic Surgery Resident, Toronto, ON, Canada

OWL follows in the footsteps of some of the most important editor/contributor projects of the 21st century such as the DMOZ/Open Directory Project and the Oxford English Dictionary. OWL strives to become the definitive catalogue of the Orthopaedic Internet.

Visit OWL to find the orthopaedic knowledge & wisdom you are seeking
