In a live internet webcast on September 13th, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, surgeons at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital will perform a computer-assisted hip replacement procedure. Dr. David Harwood will perform the minimally-invasive surgery. Dr. Donald Polakoff will moderate the event. The Achieve® brand computer-assisted instruments and software were created by Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics. The software allows Dr. Harwood to reduce the margin of error in hip replacement surgery.
