Bone Conserving Humeral Resurfacing Head

The bone conserving humeral resurfacing prosthesis leaves the structural shoulder intact, reshaping the ball part of the shoulder (humeral portion) and placing a metal cap over it. The benefits of the procedure include a better anatomical fit for patients and the preservation of valuable bone tissue that can make future procedures easier if revision surgery is made necessary by further degeneration of the joint.

According to Dr. Bailie, this technique offers active individuals under the age of 55 the opportunity to regain much of their active lifestyle through a minimally invasive procedure.
